The crankcase of a 1916 French-made Gnome et Rhone Type 9Jb rotary engine, photographed recently near Griffin, Georgia. It generates about 120 horsepower, and uses castor oil for a lubricant. When mounted into a replica WWI Fokker Dreidecker, it will be one of the most historically accurate aircraft of it's type in the country.
