Interview One - Brian Karli and his Jenny...

As many of you may know, there has been a show of my work at Georgia's second-largest museum, the Tellus Science Museum, since the First of June. It is a chronological timeline of aviation history, depicted in images beginning with the Wright Flyer, up to the present day F-22 fighter plane. Contrary to public opinion, I was not present for the Wright Flyer image, so I can take no credit for it. However, I was able to photograph a Curtiss JN-4D "Jenny" that is nearing restoration just outside of Atlanta. The first image in the show, it is a detail shot of the cockpit, complete with antique instruments.

One of the real pleasures for me during this project was the opportunity to interview people who either had flown the aircraft in the image, or who had historical knowledge of it. To that end, I present an interview with Brian Karli.
Reaching High runs through the 30th of November, and I'll deliver a second lecture on the project on 19 October at 2pm, at the museum. I'd love to have you come out, if you are in the area. There is an admission charge to the museum, but the lecture is free, and I'll be available to answer questions in the gallery, shortly after the lecture concludes.
