Mr. Pat Epps…
I learned this morning that Mr. Pat Epps, of Epps Aviation fame, has passed away. While the Epps Aviation company was a client for many years, it was only when Mr. Epps learned my name that I truly felt “part of the family.” For some time, he would enthusiastically say “Hello,” but it was only after he remembered my name that I knew “I had arrived…” at least in his mind.
By all accounts, he was a truly great guy, and was very influential in the general aviation sphere here in Georgia. Aside from many achievements in the aviation world, he was also an elected member of the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame.
The above portrait was made during a 2012 Lindbergh Foundation fund-raising event at the Explorer’s Club in New York City. He was the first one to arrive, so we took a few quiet moments to create this portrait, and he seemed truly happy to be there in support of the foundation’s efforts.
It is a sad day for his family, but I’m sure that he’ll be fondly remembered for many years. Blue Skies…
